The IPL 2025 is down to just one game, and the tournament will certainly get a new winner this season. Former India legendary batter and skipper Sourav Ganguly has shared his views on both teams ahead of the upcoming mega event, which will take place on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

While all the experts and analysts have revealed their picks to win the final, the former BCCI president has refused to single out a favorite while praising how both teams have performed very well in the tournament, and they are both equally good. Ganguly has also given his insights on the biggest stars featuring in the match, which include Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, who have had one of their best seasons this year.

“Both are good teams. Both teams have played very well this year. You can't tell in advance what will happen in T20 cricket. But Punjab is outstanding. The way they beat Mumbai Indians. Shreyas Iyer is incredible. Both teams are equally good. The team that plays well will win,” Ganguly said as quoted by My Khel.

“There's always pressure at this level, not just on Kohli but on everyone. He's played World Cups and won them. He's an impeccable cricketer. This is just another big match for him. Shreyas batted brilliantly. Keeping a cool head under pressure is the hallmark of a real match winner," Ganguly added.

The other players that caught the attention of the former BCCI president are the emerging performers of the season. While admiring the performance of experienced players in Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar, he did not fail to mention the contributions from the upcoming talents, which include the likes of Priyansh Arya, Jitesh Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Dewald Brevis.

“Nehal Wadhera has played well. Shreyas Iyer has been rediscovered. Apart from that, Priyansh Arya, RCB's Jitesh Sharma, Rajat Patidar, Dewald Brevis have impressed, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, talented young boy. We must give him time,” the 2002 Champions Trophy winner said.
