England further lost grip on their ongoing five-game Test series against India after the Ben Stokes-led side sustained a mammoth 434-run loss in Rajkot. Seeing their consistent sub-par performances, the side’s ‘Bazball’ approach has become the subject of scrutiny of many experts.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan was particularly critical of England’s approach against the Indian team. The 49-year-old opined that England’s current approach is disrespectful to Test cricket.

He further highlighted the importance of playing for a draw in a five-game series, but in ‘Bazball’ cricket, not playing for the draw is the way to go. He further talked about Ben Duckett heaping praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal's batting with a tracking intent as well.

“Duckett reckons they deserve credit for the way Yashasvi Jaiswal is batting as if no player in history has ever played an attacking shot. They talk about not playing for the draw, but to me, that’s disrespectful to Test cricket. The draw is a crucial part of the game, and the five-test contest has often provided the bedrock for some great series victories,” Vaughan wrote in The Telegraph.

“They have to be careful that people around them don’t think they are smug, or above their station. Root’s shot was another reminder that they are in a bubble. All that matters is their dressing room and fun. There is a bit more to Test cricket than that,” he added.

Furthermore, former England skipper Nasser Hussain had a lot to say about England’s performance in the Rajkot Test as well. Hussain opined that instead of England players lauding Yashasvi Jaiswal for his attacking mindset, they should look to take away things from his game and implement them in theirs.

"In the second Test, a double hundred from Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone. In Rajkot this week, it was hundreds from Rohit and Jadeja. So instead of England players saying how great it is that Jaiswal has been looking to emulate them, note what he's actually doing,” Hussain wrote in his column on Daily Mail.
