Kris Srikkanth opened up on Rishabh Pant's poor performance in the IPL 2025 for the Lucknow Super Giants. The former Indian cricketer took to his YouTube channel and stated that Pant did not have things going for him in the 18th edition of the league. He felt that both with batting and captaincy, Pant had the misfortune of not giving the best results for his side.

After being the most expensive player in the history of the IPL auctions, Pant is having his worst IPL season ever. Srikkanth felt the southpaw could not bat freely and more often than not played shots with no clarity. He claimed it to be the reason behind Pant's failure as a batter.

"Unfortunately, things are not going Rishabh Pant's way. Even when captaining, be it bowling changes or field placements, he seems to be messing up in some form or the other. Things are not going his way. Even with the bat, he can just play freely and be bold, but he seems to be playing half-hearted shots with no clarity," Srikkanth said on his YouTube Channel.

He is finding new ways to get out: Srikkanth

Srikkanth claimed that the star batter found different ways to get out and compared it with himself back in his playing days. He felt Pant had gotten out by trying to play unorthodox shots like wild swings, reverse-sweeps, and reverse-paddles. He claimed luck was not going Pant's way either.

"Every game, he is finding new ways to get dismissed. During my playing days, I used to invent ways to get dismissed, and Pant is doing worse than I. 30 years back, I was like that, today he is finding new ways to get out — reverse-sweep, reverse-paddle, swinging wildly — all of it is happening," Srikkanth added.

He then suggested the LSG management to leave Pant alone and ask him to spend some time away from cricket. Srikkanth suggested LSG buy better bowlers as they do not have impactful ones in this edition. LSG lacked a strong bowling core with the loss of many bowlers due to injuries and other reasons, too.

"I just want him to be left alone…they should say enough, just go and spend some time away. The season is over. Whatever they are planning for the next season, they have to change the core and bring in bowlers — they don't have any bowlers in this team," Srikkanth felt.
