Michael Clarke praised RCB for the way they chased the total of 228 against LSG in the 70th and the last league stage match of the IPL 2025 to qualify for Qualifier 1. The former Australian skipper felt that RCB as a unit believed they could get the job done even after having a slight blip at one point in their innings when a win mattered for them a lot.

The Jiostar expert noted that RCB did not have Tim David for the match against LSG at the Ekana Stadium, who has been one of their best players in the 18th edition of the league. Clarke praised the way Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal kept going even after the dismissal of Virat Kohli, who was looking great in the middle.

"What we saw with this RCB batting unit is that they believe they can win from any situation. They didn’t even have Tim David, who’s been key at the back end. But they just believe. The way they played their shots and kept the intent even after Virat got out was amazing," Clarke said on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar.

Virat Kohli, Jitesh Sharma, and Mayank Agarwal star for RCB against LSG in the run chase

Ahead of the Playoffs of the IPL 2025, RCB got the much-needed momentum, as they chased their highest total in IPL history and the third highest for a team in the league's history. Jitesh led from the front with his fantastic unbeaten 85*(33).

Virat was one of the key performers for RCB, who scored 54(30) and gave a good start to his side. Mayank Agarwal was an unsung hero who remained unbeaten with a score of 41*(23) with crucial partnerships with both Virat and Jitesh in the big run chase.

RCB will take on Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 on May 29 in Mullanpur, which is the former's home ground. It could be an evenly contested game, as both RCB and PBKS have great teams and momentum on their side. Additionally, RCB is yet to lose a match away from home in the IPL 2025.
