Following the match between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad, centurion Shubman Gill revealed that getting the big runs off Abhishek Sharma was ‘most pleasing’. Notably, the defending champions secured their berth in the playoffs following their win against the orange outfit by 34 runs.
Despite rest of the Gujarat batting unit failing to contribute much, it was Gill, who injected energy into the innings by scoring 101 off 58 balls. In doing so, he recorded his maiden century in the IPL as his innings included 13 boundaries and one six at a stunning strike rate of 174.13.
During the post-match presentation, Gill made an interesting statement on his on-field duel with Abhishek Sharma. The flamboyant batter stated that he wanted to target the SRH left-arm spinner for the big runs if he bowled to the former.
"The six off Abhishek Sharma was the most pleasing thing for me. I told him that if you bowl to me, I'm gonna hit you for a six," Gill told in the post-match presentation.

Life has come a full circle: Shubman Gill
The Gujarat opener further added that his life came to complete circle after getting his century against Hyderabad as he made his debut against the same side. It is worth mentioning that, Gill also became the first Indian to score a century in T20I, ODI, Test format and in the IPL, all in the same calendar year.
"I made my IPL debut against SRH and got my first hundred against them, so life has come a full circle. Hopefully many more to come. It's all about the bowlers and situation and I don't dwell much on my last innings. It is important to focus on the situation in front," Shubman added.
Speaking about his campaign, the batter has accumulated 576 runs in 13 matches, lacing it with four fifties and one ton. Following the knock against SRH, Gill stands second in the IPL Orange Cap list.
