Sahibzada Farhan holed out to Tilak Varma at deep mid-wicket to get dismissed for a tone-setting 57-run knock which came off just 38 balls in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28. 57 of Pakistan's first 84 runs had come off the bat of Farhan.

Chakravarthy, who had conceded only five runs in his first over, was launched handsomely over the long-on fence on the third delivery of his second over (the innings' 10th). However, the mystery spinner had the last laugh. The star leg-spinner then bowled the subsequent delivery a tad quicker and shorter.

The ball seemed to have skidded onto Farhan, as the opening batter was eventually cramped for room and all he managed to was connect the bat to the ball to find Tilak straight, who was positioned at the deep mid-wicket boundary. Tilak bent down and reverse-cupped the ball safely to end the 84-run opening stand.

Farhan's innings comprised five fours and three sixes. He has enjoyed considerable success against India earlier in the tournament. Farhan has registered scores of 40 (group-stage) and 58 (Super Four) while playing against the Men in Blue in the past few weeks.

Suryakumar Yadav's side won its previous encounters against the Green Shirts in Asia Cup 2025 both while batting second. The triumph in the league phase and in the Super Four round was by seven wickets and six wickets, respectively. Both these contests were played in Dubai as well.
