Pakistan international Haris Rauf and top-order batter Finn Allen were involved in an unexpected on-field incident during Match 39 of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26 between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars at the Optus Stadium on January 17. Both Rauf and Allen ended up starring for their respective teams with 3/23 in four overs and 69 off 39, respectively.

The incident came right at the end of the third over of the run-chase, which was also Rauf's first. Rauf, seemingly pumped up after securing a couple of snaps in his very first over, passionately bumped shoulders into Allen after he had bowled the final ball of the over. What seemed to be a heated exchange during the moment in time instantly turned into a light-hearted moment after both the cricketers looked at each other before breaking into laughter.

The Scorchers ascended to the top of the table after winning the match by a six-wicket margin. With three wickets gone inside the powerplay, it seemed as if it would be a struggle for the Ashton Turner-led unit. However, Allen's power-packed knock comprising two fours and seven sixes ensured the Scorchers did not make a mess of the chase.

Aaron Hardie played an anchoring knock, in which he registered a crucial 41 off 37. Rauf's three-wicket haul did not prove to be enough. He bowled a total of 13 dot balls in a spell which was marked with immense pace and control. The Pakistan international managed to pick up the wickets of Mitchell Marsh, Cooper Connolly and Josh Inglis to put the Stars on top of the match.

Jhye Richardson was named the Player of the Match for his figures of 4/16 in 3.2 overs. The pacer was also successful in snapping up three catches during the Stars' innings. No one barring Marcus Stoinis (55 off 39) could score substantially.
