Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik brought some light-hearted fun to the ongoing Test series between England and India by revealing Cheteshwar Pujara’s doppelganger. India are currently in England for a five-match series, with Karthik involved in the broadcast and commentary team.

Karthik shared a playful video featuring Pujara and his lookalike on this social media handles. In the clip, he asked both of them whether they thought they resembled each other, sparking laughter all around. Karthik identified Alex Noble, a sports journalist with BBC Sport, as Pujara’s ‘proper doppelganger’.

"What I'm going to show you right now is one cricketer and another person who look so similar, from a completely different part of the globe. Let me show you all. This is Cheteshwar Pujara, Indian cricketer, and a man who's into broadcasting recently, and have a look at this, this is Alex Noble," Karthik said in the video on his Instagram account.

Speaking of Karthik, the wicketkeeper-batter retired from all forms of cricket in 2024 following the IPL season. However, he later reversed his decision and returned to action in the SA20 league, representing the Paarl Royals. Over the course of his international career, he played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is for India. Most recently, he was part of the coaching staff for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the IPL 2025 season.

Meanwhile, Pujara last played a Test for India in 2023 and has been out of the national setup since then. He featured in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval but was not selected for the home series against New Zealand or the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

Pujara has played 103 Tests, scoring 7,195 runs at an average of 43.60, including 19 centuries and 35 fifties. In the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, he played for Saurashtra, scoring 402 runs in seven matches at an average of 40.20, which included a double century. Currently, he is part of the broadcast team covering the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
