A tossed-up leg-break by Adil Rashid brought Shimron Hetmyer's outing to an end at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff during the second ODI of the three-match series. The left-handed batter, who was dismissed on the final ball of the 37th over, was dismissed for a run-a-ball four as his return in the maroon jersey turned out to be a forgettable one.
The delivery was floated on a length outside the off stump. It drifted away just a touch and drew Hetmyer forward, but he played down the wrong line. The ball straightened after pitching and hit him plumb in front, as it appeared to the naked eye. However, the batter was not convinced and decided to challenge the call via the DRS only for UltraEdge to show no spike and ball-tracking to turn three reds.

England won the toss and opted to field first. Jewel Andrew, representing West Indies for the second time in ODIs, fell for a five-ball duck early in the piece. Brandon King (59 off 67) and Keacy Carty combined to construct a 141-run partnership for the second wicket before Carty fell for a fine 103 off 105, his third ODI ton in the span of 10 days.

Review: England annihilate West Indies in first ODI
Skipper Shai Hope impressed with a 66-ball 78 and was the final wicket to fall for the visitors. Rashid conceded 63 runs in his 10-over quota. The wily leg-spinner ended up scalping four wickets while Saqib Mahmood (3/37 in 9.4 overs) was impressive too. Will Jacks proved to be quite expensive as he conceded 42 runs.
