Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant engaged in a fun-filled banter session at an event. A snippet of their conversation with the host from January 19 has been doing the rounds on social media. The event occurred a day after the conclusion of the ODI series between India and New Zealand.

The host had asked the cricketers whether they had any plans of becoming actors in the future. The wicketkeeper-batter responded first by admitting that he had never thought about it, and that he would rather focus on his cricket. He concluded by sharing that he did not know about Jadeja's plans. Jadeja was quick to respond in a humorous fashion, joking that Pant had indirectly hinted at the all-rounder calling it time on his cricket career.

"Pehle toh, abhi tak socha nahi hai. Mujhe abhi cricket khelne do. Jaddu bhai ka pata nahi hai (First of all, I haven't thought about it. Let me play cricket now. I don't know about Jaddu bhai)," shared Pant at the event.

"Matlab yeh indirectly bol raha hai ki aapka time ho gaya hai (He is indirectly saying that my time is up now)," added Jadeja.

For the unversed, Jadeja had an underwhelming series against New Zealand. He scored only 43 runs in three matches on pitches which were conducive for batting. On the bowling front, the left-arm spinner went wicketless throughout the series. His figures read 0/56 (nine overs), 0/44 (eight overs) and 0/41 (six overs) in the three games.

Many ex-cricketers were critical of Jadeja as the Men in Blue lost by a 1-2 margin. Former domestic cricketer Shreevats Goswami went as far as commenting on his X account that the ODI in Indore (January 19) might well be Jadeja's final one.
