Chennai Super Kings' social media post uploaded on December 10 gave a potential hint at their plans as far as targetting Cameron Green and other players IPL 2026 auction is concerned. The auction is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.

The teaser clip featured the team mascot Leo roaming through a busy marketplace in which he is seen not paying heed to the vendors selling green vegetables and chillies. Although the cameras panned the items from up close, Leo instead proceeded to explore other sections. The gesture has created a lot of buzz in the comments section as to whether Green will be signed by the franchise or not.

After the potential Green-related segment, the video moved onto showing Leo going to another vendor. After whispering something in the person's ear, the man handed him Kashmiri apples, a packet of Tamil Nadu’s signature mixture snacks and a box of kiwis. This sequence was possibly symbolic of CSK aiming to purchase a player from Jammu & Kashmir, a Tamil Nadu-origin player who does not represent the state currently and a player from New Zealand, respectively.

Recently, CSK had traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran for Sanju Samson with Rajasthan Royals. After the move, it was only obvious that they would aim to snap up a pace-bowling all-rounder who would also be a handful with the bat lower down the order. There were a lot of reports stating that Green, with a base price of INR 2 crore, was on the franchise's radar.

For the unversed, the Men in Yellow will enter the auction with a total of nine slots (including four overseas players) with a remaining purse of INR 43.40 crore. CSK, who finished last for the first time last season, have released the likes of Andre Siddarth, Deepak Hooda, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Matheesha Pathirana, Rahul Tripathi, Shaikh Rasheed, Vansh Bedi, Vijay Shankar and Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
