Yuvraj made the remarks during the “50 Days To Go” event ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in India later this year.

"Everyone expects India to win. We should support the women's team as much as we support the men's team. The World Cup is being held in India. I urge all fans to come and watch the matches and support our team. We want our girls to win," Yuvraj Singh told the media as quoted by NDTV Sports.

“The fans are always wanting fours and sixes, or wickets. That’s the game. They come to watch. They want entertainment. They want to be entertained. There will be times when things are not going to go well. And that’s the time when the experience, the self-belief, has to take over. The belief that I can be the player at this moment. I think every time you walk in the game, you have to believe that,” he added.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah inaugurated the event, which featured panel discussions with current and former Indian cricket stars, alongside ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta. Indian legends Mithali Raj, current Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues gathered in Mumbai for the ‘50 Days To Go’ event ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

This upcoming 50-over World Cup marks the return of a major ICC Women’s tournament to the subcontinent for the first time since 2016, when India hosted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. India has previously hosted the Women’s World Cup in 1978, 1997, and 2013.
