Shaheen Shah Afridi was amongst the several Pakistan cricketers who were spotted offering prayers for Rashid Khan's late brother Haji Abdul Halim Shinwari. The Pakistani players marked their 39-run win over Afghanistan by taking a moment to extend condolences to Rashid as his brother passed away recently.
Shinwari was known for being a pillar of support in Rashid's life. In a heartfelt video doing the rounds on social media, Shaheen and a bunch of other Pakistani cricketers were seen praying for the departed soul and hugging Rashid in the Afghanistan dressing room.

There were many heartfelt messages penned down for Rashid and his family after his loss. The likes of Ibrahim Zadran and Asghar Afghan from prayed amid the grief for Rashid and his family members.
Coming to the match, Pakistan won the series-opening clash by 39 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Afghanistan were bowled out for 143 in 19.5 overs. Rashid played well for a 16-ball 39-run knock which comprised one four and five sixes. Rashid and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (38 off 27) were the only players to go past the 30-run mark.

Haris Rauf (4/31 in 3.5 overs) and Sufiyan Muqeem (2/25 in four overs) starred for the Salman Ali Agha-led side. Agha emerged as the Player of the Match after an unbeaten half-century (53* off 36) in the first innings, including three fours and as many sixes. Rashid (1/26 in four overs) bowled quite superbly. However, it was not meant to be for his team. Afghanistan will next face UAE on Monday, September 1.
