AB de Villiers pulled off a stunning grab during South Africa Champions' semi-final clash against Australia Champions to dismiss Chris Lynn for 35 off 20 at Edgbaston in World Championship of Legends 2025. The exhilarating catch would have left even the best of fielders and athletes in international cricket proud.

Lynn stroked a length delivery outside the line of off stump aerially. de Villiers, positioned at mid-on, was extremely quick in turning over his left shoulder to run back without having his eyes on the ball. He looked skywards only after covering sufficient distance, as he circled around to complete a special catch near long-on, leaving the commentators and spectators stunned. 

The splendid effort garnered admiration from the cricket fraternity. de Viilliers had always been a superb athlete during his cricketing days for South Africa and he continues to display similar skills even at this age.

Speaking of how the match panned out, South Africa emerged victorious by the barest of margins as the final-over thriller went in the favour of de Villiers & Co. by only one run. Morne van Wyk (76 off 35) top-scored as South Africa posted 186/8 on the board.

Australia were well on their way to securing the finale berth, comfortably placed at 129/3 in 15 overs. However, the opposition held their nerves exceedingly well to take the match to the last over.
