Anderson Phillip plucked out a stunning catch to get rid of Travis Head on Day 1 of the third Test of the ongoing three-match series between West Indies and Australia. Head, who had to head back for 20 off 53, was the sixth wicket to fall for Australia in the pink-ball Test in Kingston.

Head intended to lift the ball over the extra cover region while going down on one leg to a full ball bowled by Justin Greaves. The ball did not really gain the required distance as Head would want. Phillip, stationed at mid-off, sprinted towards his right and dived full-stretch to hold onto the ball despite his elbows grazing thee turf.

Coming to the opening day's play, the visitors were bowled out for 225 in 70.3 overs. Ace batter Steven Smith top-scored with 48 off 66. Greaves (3/56 in 14 overs) and Jayden Seales (3/59 in 16 overs). The remainder of the four wickets were scalped by Shamar Joseph. The pacer was also West Indies' most economical bowler, conceding only 33 runs in 17.3 overs.

West Indies were rather cautious in the nine overs which were played before Stumps were called. They got to 16 runs for the loss of one wicket in the form of Kevlon Anderson. The top-order batter was dismissed for three off 14. Brandon King (8* off 26) and Roston Chase (3* off 14) remained unbeaten.

As far as the series is concerned, the Pat Cummins-led unit have an unassailable lead following wins in the first couple of matches. They emerged victorious in the first and second Tests by 159 and 133 runs, respectively. Chase & Co. would be aiming at wrapping up the series with a win and for that, would have their eyes set on posting a sizeable first innings total.
