The West Indies will face Nepal in a T20I series of three matches in September 2025 in Sharjah. It will be the first-ever bilateral series between the two teams at the highest level and could play a key role in the globalisation of the sport. For the West Indies, the series is a mark of empowering the emerging team, while for Nepal, it will be an opportunity to gain exposure against the two-time world champions.

Following the announcement of the series, the Cricket West Indies' CEO, Chris Dehring, addressed the media and described it as a celebration of the game's ‘expanding global footprint’. Dehring saw it as a responsibility, being a full-member nation, to contribute to cricket involving teams that do not get to play often against some of the best sides in the world.

"This series is more than just a set of international matches – it’s a celebration of the game’s expanding global footprint and a testament to what cricket represents: pride, purpose, and the power of unity. As a full-member nation, we see it as part of our responsibility to contribute to the development of cricket beyond our borders," said the CWI CEO in a media interaction as per Windiescricket.com.

We are proud to stand with Nepal at this moment in their history: Dehring

Furthermore, Chris Dehring added that the series will help Nepal improve its cricket both at the grassroots level and at the highest level. He felt it would be an honour for the West Indies cricket board to represent their team and share a great moment with Nepal. All three matches of the series will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Ground on the 27th, 28th, and 30th of September, respectively.

"Supporting Nepal in this key phase of their cricketing journey not only builds the sport at the grassroots and international levels but also reminds us of the deep pride and honour associated with representing our nation and wearing our national colours. We are proud to stand with Nepal at this moment in their history and look forward to exciting and competitive cricket in Sharjah," Dehring concluded.
