The ODI series between India and South Africa might have commenced on Sunday, November 30, but cricket enthusiasts are still discussing and dissecting how the Asian giants got whitewashed by the Proteas during the preceding Test series.

While the discussions have mostly been restricted to social media, it has recently crept into the Supreme Court as well. A video has gone viral on the internet where Supreme Court judge M.M. Sundresh shared his assessment of India's dismal form in red-ball cricket during a hearing.

"When you concentrate more on T20 and ODI, you will lose Test matches," the 63-year-old could be heard saying in the video.

Meanwhile, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi said that head coach Gautam Gambhir is a friend and a client of his. The former revealed that he conveyed the disappointments of the fans to the ex-Indian cricketer after the team's insipid performance during the Test series against South Africa.

"Let me tell you, Lordship, that the head coach (Gautam Gambhir) is a friend and a client of mine. And I called him today morning and said that the whole country is now saying that even on your own pitches if you're going to lose like this, you better stop," Rohatgi said.

India lost the first Test at Eden Gardens before going to the World Test Champions once again in the second Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. The Indian team failed to counter the South African spin threat in the first Test, and Marco Jansen was the wrecker-in-chief in the second.

Now, the Indian team will look to avenge the defeat when they square off against South Africa in a three-match ODI series. The first ODI is taking place at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Sunday, November 30. India are in a fantastic position in the first innings after Virat Kohli notched up his 82nd international century.
