Who won Australia Women vs England Women clash in Women's World Cup 2025 Match 23 today? — Match result & turning points

Australia continued their unbeaten streak in the ongoing Women's World Cup 2025, defeating England by six wickets at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Wednesday, October 22.

Tahlia McGrath, stepping in for Alyssa Healy, won the toss and opted to bowl first on Wednesday. Tammy Beaumont played a brilliant knock at the top of the order. She held the innings together after the likes of Amy Jones, Heather Knight, and Sophia Dunkley failed to capitalise on their starts. Alice Capsey and Charlie Dean played handy knocks down the order to help the Three Lions get to 244/9 in 50 overs.

In reply, England got off to a brilliant start, picking up three wickets inside the first six overs. Beth Mooney and Annabel Sutherland tried to resurrect the ship, but the former was dismissed for 20 by Sophie Ecclestone.

Australia were in a spot of bother at 68/4 in 15.5 overs. Ashleigh Gardner joined forces with Sutherland, and the experienced duo counter-attacked superbly to rattle the England bowlers. Sutherland mixed caution with aggression, while Gardner took the opposition to the cleaners with a phenomenal batting display. They forged an unbeaten 180-run stand off 148 balls to take Australia to victory in 40.3 overs.
