However, a late choke by India meant Australia were bowled out for 338 in 49.5 overs. Shree Charani (2/49 in 10 overs) was the pick of the bowlers.
Kim Garth picked India's first couple of wickets inside the powerplay, sending back Shafali Verma (10 off 5) and Smriti Mandhana (24 off 24). Jemimah Rodrigues put up a massive 167-run stand along with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (89 off 88) to bring India closer to history while Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh contributed with crucial 20s. Jemimah remained unbeaten till the end (127* off 134) to be the star of the run-chase.
