England Women batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge has hit the centre-point with her predictor's hat for the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup 2025. Among other questions that she answered during a recent exclusive interview with CricTracker ahead of the tournament's commencement, she was also asked to pick her four semi-finalists for the marquee quadrennial event, and the predictions were right on the money.

England, Australia, India, and South Africa — these were the four names that Danni thought are the best contenders to make it to the top four, and after the India vs New Zealand clash in Navi Mumbai, she was proven right. Australia and South Africa had become the first two sides to qualify for the penultimate clashes, whereas the Women in Blue were among the last to qualify, finishing fourth to secure their berth.

Wyatt-Hodge is a part of England's 15-member squad. However, she did not get a chance to feature in the XI in any of England's first six league phase matches. The batter finally got her chance in the dead rubber contest against New Zealand, played on Sunday, October 26 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking of her ODI record, Wyatt-Hodge has scored 2038 runs in 118 matches at an average of 23.42 (as of October 25, 2025).

Coming to how England have played so far, they kicked off their campaign with a stunning 10-wicket win against South Africa with 215 balls to spare. They then defeated Bangladesh by four wickets in a low-scoring encounter. An 89-run win against Sri Lanka was followed by a no result against Pakistan.

England's clash against India turned out to be one of their best wins of the tournament. They pulled off a heist at the end to come out on top by four runs in a cliffhanger of a contest. The Nat Sciver-Brunt-led unit lost their first game of the tournament against tournament favourites Australia. Their arch-rivals ran away with the match by six wickets, despite them being on top initially.

England will take on third placed South Africa in the first semi-final of the competition at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29. India will square off against Australia in the second semi-final on the subsequent day in Navi Mumbai.
