In the eighth match of the 2024 Women's Premier League, UP Warriorz opted to field first after winning the toss against Gujarat Giants at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Gujarat Giants made a decent start, establishing a 40-run partnership between openers Laura Wolvaardt and captain Beth Mooney. With contributions from Harleen Deol, Phoebe Litchfield, and Ashleigh Gardner, the Gujarat Giants managed to reach a total of 142 in 20 overs. Sophie Ecclestone dazzled as UPW's bowler, claiming three wickets.
In reply, UP Warriorz openers Kiran Navgire and captain Alyssa Healy took control during the power play, accumulating 42 runs in 4.3 overs. Alyssa Healy displayed impressive form, contributing 33 runs off 21 balls.
Grace Harris took centre stage with a remarkable 60 off 33 balls, guiding UPW to a comfortable six-wicket triumph. Deepti Sharma played a supporting role with 17 runs. Tanuja Kanwar stood out as Gujarat's bowler, securing two wickets.
