WPL 2023 Orange Cap

The much-awaited inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 commenced on March 4.
Now, several batting superstars around the globe are expected to show their mettle and take the game by storm in the cash-rich league. From the lot, the one that will be most consistent with the bat will be awarded the prestigious Orange Cap.

It is an honour given to the batter with the most runs in the tournament. It usually is very popular in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is expected to have the same amount of craze in the WPL as well. A lot of players like Harmanpreet Kaur, Beth Mooney, Smriti Mandhana, Elyssa Perry and Shafali Verma among many others will be gunning to get the trophy home but will also keep an eye on the coveted prize.

Rules for WPL Orange Cap 2023

1. The Orange Cap is awarded to the leading run-scorer of the WPL season.

2. The batter who holds the Orange Cap during the season is allowed to wear it while on the field during the games as long as she remains the top-scorer in the tournament.

3. In an event where two or more batters are tied on same runs, the batter with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.

4. In an event where an opposition batter overtakes the tally of the current holder of the Orange Cap, the previous holder is allowed to wear the Cap until the end of that particular innings in which another batter overtook her.
