Harleen Deol shared her reaction on being asked to retire out in the UP Warriorz' clash against Delhi Capitals after playing a match-winning hand in the subsequent game versus the Mumbai Indians on Thursday, January 15.

The right-handed batter looked in decent touch against Mumbai as he made 47 runs off 36 balls with the help of seven boundaries. However, the Warriorz' team management decided at the end of the 17th over that it was time to send the dangerous Chloe Tryon into the middle and to facilitate the same, they asked Deol to retire herself out.

However, Tryon failed to live up to her reputation, as she was dismissed by Shree Charani for a three-ball one. Several fans and some experts were baffled after Deol, the set batter, was retired out. The last three overs yielded just 13 runs for the Warriorz as they couldn't maximise the back end of the innings. The Capitals went on to win the match by seven wickets off the last ball.

On Thursday, she batted like a woman on a mission against a strong Mumbai bowling attack. Her unbeaten 39-ball 64 made the 162-run target look like a cakewalk. Tryon, who missed out in the last game, slammed a blistering 27* off 11 deliveries. After the comprehensive performance from the Warriorz, their three-match losing streak came to an end.

Deol said that while she was batting well against Delhi, the decision to replace her with Tryon was the right move as the latter is a big hitter of the cricket ball.

“Actually yesterday too I was batting well. As you saw today, how Chloe can change the scenario. I just took it that way. She's someone who can hit big but that didn't go our way. That's how I look at it,” Deol said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Deol hit five 12 boundaries during her unbeaten outing. On the other hand, Tryon smashed four fours and hit one six. They played key roles as the Warriorz chased down a 162-run target with seven wickets and 11 balls to spare.
