Ace India all-rounder Deepti Sharma seems motivated to perform well for UP Warriorz in the 2026 instalment of the Women's Premier League. Deepti, who has represented the Warriorz in the previous three seasons of the WPL, was re-signed at INR 3.2 crore, also making her the joint-second in the list of most expensive players in the league's history.

Deepti, who is coming off a Player of the Tournament performance at the 2025 Women's World Cup, said that the high bid at which she was bought back has motivated her to perform even better than before. Deepti also conceded that she has not taken any additional burden due to the high price at which she has been re-signed.

"There is no pressure, but there is definitely motivation because there is a high bid on you and so many people are watching and following you and you do well for your franchise. I don't take it as any pressure. I look to enjoy. I like to deliver in tough moments for my team and enjoy it as well," stated Deepti, as quoted by India Today.

She also remarked her and her family's sentiments after the Warriorz opted on using the Right to Match card at the auction and why her family members were pleased on her returning to the franchise. Deepti also showered praise on the management for backing her for yet another season.

"Of course, they [family] liked it a lot and they were very happy. They are waiting for the WPL to start and were just cheering. When they came to know about the Right to Match option, they were very happy because I'm from UP and I'd go back to the UP team and get another chance to play there. I went to the same franchise where the management is very supportive. Especially the owners - they've shown a lot of trust in me. They always feel that if I am playing, I'll do something good," the World Cup-winner added.

Deepti has played a total of 25 matches for UP Warriorz up until now, in which she has scored 507 runs and picked up 27 wickets. Although the team in general has not performed according to expectations, she has been one of the key performers for them till this point.
