The fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series between England and India ended in a draw at Old Trafford. With this result, the series still remains in the favour of the hosts. However, the visitors ensured that they have every chance of drawing level in the final clash, scheduled to get underway on Thursday, July 31 at The Oval in London.
The Ben Stokes-led unit were in the ascendancy for the majority of the match. Stokes personally had a great all-round outing (5/72 in 24 overs, 141 off 198, 1/33 in 11 overs). Joe Root (150 off 248) combined expertly with Stokes to help England post 669 on the board.
The hosts had India at 1/2 in 3 overs at Lunch on Day 4. It seemed as if there was no way back for India, who were staring down a potential innings defeat. KL Rahul (90 off 230) batted alongside Gill (103 off 238) while possessing tremendous grit.
The effort was carried forward by Washington Sundar (101* off 206) and Ravindra Jadeja (107* off 185), both of whom batted out time and forced England to settle for a draw by forging an unbeaten 203-run stand for the fifth wicket.

WATCH: Jadeja-Sundar reject Stokes' handshake offer
New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa have not played a Test so far in the 2025-27 cycle. The Kiwis will play three games against the Windies at home in December. Pakistan will visit England for a three-match Test series in August and September this year. The defending champions will tour India in an all-format series across November and December, which will also include two Tests.
