<p>Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most revered Indian cricketers and he has earned the respect of cricket enthusiasts with his three-dimensional qualities. He is a capable finisher, an accurate bowler, and one of the greatest fielders of all time. In his 14 years in international cricket, Jadeja has established himself as one of the finest all-rounders Indian cricket has ever seen.</p>
<h3>Early Career:</h3>
<p>Ravindra Jadeja came from a very humble background. His mother and sisters encouraged him to stay outside and play cricket so that he didn’t have to see the tumultuous conditions at home. Jadeja was bullied by elder kids during his childhood days.</p>
<p>However, Mahendrasinh Chauhan, who was a policeman by profession and a part-time cricketer, came as an angel into Jadeja’s life when he was 10 years old. Chauhan gave the youngster opportunities to bat and also taught him the art of spin bowling. It is interesting to note that Jadeja initially wanted to become a pacer.</p>
<p>Jadeja made his Under-19 debut for India in 2005 and went on to play first-class cricket for the first time in 2006 in the <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/duleep-trophy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Duleep Trophy</a></strong> for West Zone.<br>Jadeja took time to find his feet in international cricket. He was one of the first cricketers to experience trolls from social media due to his lack of performance on the international scene.</p>
<p>However, the all-rounder managed to learn from his experiences and molded himself into a reliable all-format player for the ‘Men in Blue’. His exploits in the <strong><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League (IPL)</a></strong> are also very impressive. He has truly justified the “Rockstar” nickname that he received from the late Shane Warne.</p>
<h3>International Debut:</h3>
<p>After impressive performances in the IPL and Jadeja was picked in India’s ODI and T20I squads for their tour to Sri Lanka in 2009. Jadeja’s maiden India cap was presented ahead of the fifth ODI on February 8.</p>
<p>With the ball, Jadeja failed to impress as he conceded 40 runs in six overs without picking up a wicket. However, with the bat, Jadeja showed glimpses of his talent as he remained unbeaten on 60 off 77 balls against a formidable bowling attack.</p>
<p>Jadeja took time to find his feet in international cricket but never shied away from taking lessons during his international journey and that trait of his helped him in becoming one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket that he is now.</p>
<p>Jadeja during his initial Indian Premier League days played under the watch of the Late Shane Warne at Rajasthan Royals. Warne’s guidance helped Jadeja to learn quicker and become a better player.</p>
<h3>Exceptional performance in ICC Champions Trophy 2013</h3>
<p>Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 which was played in England. In five matches, the left-arm spinner picked up 12 wickets at a phenomenal average of 12.83.</p>
<p>In the rain-curtailed final against England, Jadeja played a crucial cameo of 33 runs in 25 balls and picked up the crucial wickets of Ian Bell and Jos Buttler. He was awarded Player of the Match for his all-round contribution in the team’s five-run victory.</p>
<h3>Four-time IPL Winner</h3>
<p>Ravindra Jadeja was a part of the Rajasthan Royals side that won the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. Since being roped in by Chennai Super Kings in 2012, Jadeja has gone on to win three more titles. He has been a consistent performer for whichever side he has played for. In 226 IPL games, Jadeja has scored 2692 runs at an average of 26.39 and a strike rate of 128.56. With the ball, he has scalped 152 wickets at an average of 29.57 and an economy rate of 7.60.</p>
<h3>Ravindra Jadeja’s Personal Life:</h3>
<p>Ravindra Jadeja’s father Anirudhsinh worked as a watchman for a private security agency. In 2005, Ravindra lost his mother Lata after an accident. His sister Naina is a nurse.<br>On April 17, 2016, Jadeja tied the knot with politician Rivaba Jadeja. They were blessed with a daughter in June 2017.</p>
