13 January 2023, Jaipur: Bringing the spirit of the Royals to the pink city, Rajasthan Royals are set to celebrate the occasion of Makar Sankranti with their fans in Jaipur through the kite flying festival. As a part of the celebrations, students from a local college will be taking part in a kite flying 'war', which will culminate into the winners receiving matchday tickets for the upcoming IPL season.
Being organised at the JECRC University, the activity aims to get the youngsters to celebrate their rich heritage and culture, and also take some time off in this busy exams' season. As part of Rajasthan Royals involvement, participants will be divided into multiple groups and will be provided with Royals' branded clothing, kites, maanjha and firki. These multiple groups will face off at a particular time, and the group that wins in minimum time will be declared as the winner, and will be rewarded with tickets to Rajasthan Royals' matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the upcoming season.
The entire activity will also feature the biggest, die-hard supporters of the franchise, the Super Royals, who will be cheering on the participants, while multiple artists and dancers will also perform on various tracks to set the stage, entertain the audience and encourage the participants. With the upcoming season of the IPL expected to return to its normal format of home and away matches, the Royals are aiming to create a buzz in its home state through such initiatives, while also giving back to the fans who have always supported the team.
The Royals Kite Festival will begin at 10 AM IST at the JECRC University situated in Sitapura Extension, Jaipur.
