IPL 2024, Eliminator: Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Match Preview

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are all set to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the eliminator of the ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League). Both sides will lock horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22. It is worth noting that the winner of the eliminator will go on to face the loser of Qualifier 1 of the tournament for a spot in the summit clash. 

Rajasthan Royals dominated the group stage of the tournament, but their form fell off in the second half of the tournament. Staying atop the standings, the Royals fell off and toppled down to third place in the points table, and they will be facing RCB in the knockouts. Interestingly, the Royals managed to register a dominant win in their previous game against RCB; however, the picture is quite different now as RCB are in red-hot form. 

Led by Faf du Plessis, Bengaluru are unbeaten in the month of May and they managed to qualify by the barest of margins in terms of NRR after they defeated Chennai Super Kings in their final group stage game and made it to the playoffs. 

After winning their last six matches, RCB will look to register their seventh consecutive win and make it to Qualifier 2 of the tournament as hopes for their first-ever IPL title continue to rise.

Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

The surface at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is quite balanced, and with help from both the batters and the bowlers, the batters will look to stay patient in the early stages of the clash, scoring big. Opting to bat first after winning the toss could be an optimal decision.
