South Africa are all set to face New Zealand at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Wednesday, July 16, in match No. 2 of the ongoing T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe.

The Proteas will be high on confidence after beating Zimbabwe by five wickets in the first match. The Rassie van der Dussen-led side restricted the hosts to 141/6, with George Linde starring with figures of 3/10 in three overs. With the bat, Dewald Brevis hogged the limelight with a 41-run knock off 17 balls. Debutant Rubin Hermann also played the anchor's role commendably, scoring 45 off 37 deliveries. South Africa reached the target in 15.5 overs to bag two points to start the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Kiwis haven't played international cricket since the ODI series they won 3-0 against Pakistan at home in March-April. Prior to the ODIs, they played a five-match T20I series against the Men in Green. Mitchell Santner and Co. won four matches and lost one to bag the series. Tim Seifert was the leading run-getter in the series, smashing 249 runs in five innings at an average of 62.25 and a strike rate of 207.50. Meanwhile, Jacob Duffy finished with the most number of wickets, taking 13 scalps from five games at an average of 8.38 and an economy rate of 6.17.

Pitch Report

The surface is expected to be on the slower side. New-ball bowlers are going to get some assistance, and openers will have to be wary. Winning the toss and chasing is the better option at this venue. Fans will be happy to know that there is no chance of rain playing spoilsport.
