After stunning the cricketing world by beating Pakistan, Zimbabwe will now take on Bangladesh, who were absolutely hammered by South Africa in their previous fixture. With three points from two games, Zimbabwe now look like one of the contenders to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup while Bangladesh does have a chance but they need to address a lot of their issues in order to achieve that.
The Shakib Al Hasan-led side defeated the Netherlands in their first match of the competition but lost to the Proteas by an enormous margin of 104 runs. Their failure as a batting unit continued as seven players failed to score in double digits in the last match. Being the most experienced player on the side, Shakib was expected to lead by example but tha has not been the case so far.
For the bowlers, even after being smashed all across the park in their previous match, they have the ability to bounceback. However, they won't be able to get the points if their middle order doesn't take some responsibility.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be much more relaxed than Bangladesh. They have covered all their bases so far in the tournament and have become one of the teams to watch out for in the multi-nation tournament. Having scored 145 runs and picking eight wickets in five matches, the veteran Sikandar Raza has been phenomenal and the other players have complemented him well. Their batters do have room for improvement but there is not a lot to worry about at the moment.
Pitch Conditions
The pitch at Gabba often provides extra pace and bounce and that will favour the bowlers to do some damage. Batters will tend to dominate as the pitch gets old and thus, bowling first will be ideal in these conditions.
Playing Combinations for BAN vs ZIM
Bangladesh
Looking at their disappointing performance against the Proteas, Bangladesh might bring Yasir Ali in place of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Bangladesh might also bring in Ebadot Hossain as his sheer pace can help the team do well at Gabba.
