Siddhesh Veer's clinical knock guided Raigad Royals to a thrilling five-run win, courtesy of Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) Method over the table toppers Eagle Nashik Titans in the 13th match of the ongoing Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 on June 12. Royals, who were in desperate need of a win to stay in the hunt for a spot in the top half of the table, faced the Nashik Titans, who were unbeaten in their last four outings.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, they suffered an early loss as Harsh Sanghvi fell on the very first ball. However, Siddhesh held one end firmly and remained unbeaten on 104 off just 62 balls, lacing his innings with nine fours and six maximums.

Omkar Khatpe (30 off 19) and Harsh Mogaveera (22 off 13) provided brief support to their in-form opener. Raigad Royals eventually ended on 216/5 in 20 overs. For Nashik, Prashant Solanki and Mukesh Choudhary picked up two wickets each, and Yogesh Dongre chipped in with one apiece.

Chasing a revised target due to a DLS method, the Titans got off to a poor start, losing Mandar Bhandari early. Arshin Kulkarni (38 off 24) and Sahil Parakh (47 off 20) put up a 52-run stand, keeping the side's hope alive in the chase.

Later, Rohan Damle’s 34 off 23 wasn’t enough, as wickets fell at regular intervals. Titans were restricted to 135/4 in 13.4 overs when rain forced the match to an early end. As per the DLS method, they fell short by 5 runs. Tanay Sanghvi was the pick of the bowlers for the Royals, picking up two wickets for just 22 runs in his spell. Vicky Ostwal and Sagar Jadhav also bagged a wicket each.

Despite the loss, Eagle Nashik Titans remain at the top of the MPL 2025 standings with 8 points from 5 matches. Meanwhile, Raigad Royals, with this win, have climbed to fourth place with 4 points from four matches played so far.
