Puneri Bappa (PB) secured a five-wicket victory over Kolhapur Tuskers (KT) in the 17th match of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2025) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
The Puneri Bappa skipper Yash Kshirsagar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Kolhapur Tuskers got off to a strong start, with openers Sachin Dhas and Ankit Bawne putting together a 97-run partnership for the first wicket. Dhas played a solid knock, scoring 60 runs off 36 balls, before falling to Sohan Jamale.
But wickets began to tumble at regular intervals, and despite their early momentum, Kolhapur Tuskers finished at 186/7 in 20 overs. There were contributions from Bawne (35 off 32), Siddharth Mhatre (26 off 18), and skipper Rahul Tripathi (45 off 17) helped them set a competitive total. Ramakrishna Ghosh, Sachin Bhosale, and Jamale each picked up two wickets for Puneri Bappa.

Puneri Bappa were chasing 187 runs and faced early setbacks as openers Yash Nahar (4) and Murtaza Trunkwala (9) departed cheaply. Rushikesh Sonwane (23) and Kshirsagar (25) provided some stability in the middle overs, but the match-winning partnership came from Advay Shidhaye and Ramakrishna Ghosh. The duo stitched together a 101-run stand for the fifth wicket, guiding Puneri Bappa to victory.
Shidhaye played a crucial innings, scoring 58 off 36 balls, while Ramakrishna’s 50 off 23 balls ensured the chase was completed comfortably. Kolhapur Tuskers bowler Anand Thenge picked up two wickets in his four-over spell.
With this win, Puneri Bappa remains in second place on the points table, having won three out of six matches, while Kolhapur Tuskers sit at fifth with just one victory from six games. Puneri Bappa will face table-toppers Eagle Nashik Titans, while Kolhapur Tuskers will take on Raigad Royals on June 15.
