MPL 2025, 4th Match Review: Eagle Nashik cruise past Satara Warriors in rain-affected contest

The Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 witnessed its second rain-affected contest as Eagle Nashik Titans registered an eight-wicket victory over Satara Warriors in Match 4 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The game began with Satara Warriors batting first after losing the toss. The Saurabh Nawal-led side managed to reach 116/4 in 15 overs before the rain disrupted play.
Satara had a slow start after Nawale departed early for 12 (10), caught by Atharva Kale off Manoj Ingale. However, the 50-run partnership between Pavan Shah and Harshal Kate stabilized the innings. Shah held one end strongly and top-scored with 40 off 32 balls, which included one four and three sixes.
Kate (21 off 17) and Om Bhosale (25 off 20) kept the scoreboard ticking, while Mehul Patel and Aniket Porwal respectively remained unbeaten on six in a rain-shortened innings. Despite a few quick wickets, the Warriors reached 116/4 in 15 overs before the weather intervened. For the Titans, Akshay Waikar was the pick of the bowlers, picking 2/13 in his three overs, while Prashant Solanki and Ingale chipped in with a wicket each.
With rain washing out a significant part of the second innings, the match was reduced to just five overs for the Eagle Nashik Titans, who were given a revised target of 54 under the DLS method. Mandar Bhandari and Arshin Kulkarni opened the innings for the Titans.
Arshin smashed 19 off just 9 deliveries with three sixes before falling in the second over to Vaibhav Darkunde. Bhandari too perished soon after a six-ball nine. Sahil Parakh (9* off 6) and Atharva Kale (8* off 7) kept their cool and guided the team home comfortably in 4.3 overs, sealing the win with three balls to spare.
