George Munsey won the toss for Los Angeles Waves and opted to bat first. Ali Nadeem wreaked havoc, scoring a quickfire 28 off 13 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes during his whirlwind knock. Gauranshu Sharma and Munsey got starts but couldn't capitalise. On the other hand, Colin Archibald, Sagar Patel, and Raj Nannan were dismissed for single-digit scores.
Sheldon Jackson, however, played a crucial 22-run knock off 13 deliveries to help Los Angeles finish on 90/7 in 10 overs. Faisal Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Atlanta, finishing with figures of 2/13 in two overs.
In reply, Atlanta Kings got off to the worst possible start as they lost the wicket of Rahkeem Cornwall off the first ball. Fellow opener Sushant Modani also departed in quick succession. Asa Tribe anchored the innings with a brilliant 39 off 21 balls, belting five fours and one six. However, Leonardo Julien and Fabian Allen struggled to find their timing and only managed a combined score of 16 off 26 balls.
This made the run-chase very difficult for the Kings. Angelo Perera hit three sixes off eight balls to finish unbeaten on 23. However, it wasn't enough to take his team over the line. 21 runs were required off the last over, which was bowled by Archibald. Perera and Tribe only managed to take 19 runs as Atlanta finished on 89/5. Pakistan's Raees starred with figures of 2/24 in two overs.
