In another thriller in IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals, who headed into this match having won each of their first four matches, but stumbled from a winning position to hand Gujarat Titans a win in a match that went down to the last ball.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and sent the Royals in, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler's poor form continued as Titans reaped early benefits. But, skipper Sanju Samson(68* off 38) and the man newly in-form Riyan Parag(76 off 48) put up a partnership of 130 in just 13 overs as RR pushed on to 196/3 even with Rashid Khan(1 for 18) looming large.
GT's innings began rather slow, amassing just 44 runs in the powerplay and 64 in 8 overs. Kuldeep Sen(3 for 41)'s first spell of three wickets in less than two overs rocked GT, but it was at that point that Titans skipper Shubman Gill(72 off 44) kicked on. But, when Gill fell, GT still needed 64 runs off 28 balls.
