Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 31 of Indian Premier League 2024 at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. In the ongoing tournament, both KKR and RR have started the season with a bang. RR have won five matches and lost just one match in this tournament and they are currently at the top of the points table. Thus, the Royals would like to continue their winning momentum whereas, KKR have won four matches and lost just one match in this tournament and they are currently in second place in the points table. The Knight Riders also would like to continue their winning momentum with a win in this battle between table toppers.
Speaking about the last game of the Royals, Yashasvi Jaiswal 39(28) started to smash in the powerplay as usual and played superbly. But the Royals lost his wicket at the wrong time and they also lost a bunch of wickets after that and the game changed slightly in Punjab's favour. But in the end, Shimron Hetmyer 27*(10) played a fantastic cameo, helping RR win the game at the end. Speaking about the bowlers, the Royals were in control right from the start led by Keshav Maharaj (4-0-23-2) and Trent Boult (4-0-22-1) who bowled magnificently ensuring that the Punjab Kings managed to post only 147. Speaking about the last game of the Knight Riders, Philip Salt 89*(47) played magnificent innings that helped the Knight Riders to chase the target within 16 overs. Shreyas Iyer 38*(38) played an excellent second-fiddle anchoring role ensuring that there is no panic in the chase. These two stitched a superb partnership of 120 runs off 75 deliveries which helped Knight Riders to chase the target easily. Speaking about the bowlers, Sunil Narine (4-0-17-1) who bowled excellently helped Knight Riders to restrict LSG to below par total of 161. Mitchell Starc (4-0-28-2) also bowled beautifully and gave excellent support to Narine. The Knight Riders will hope all these players continue their good form.
