Before touring Bangladesh, team India looks to sign off the rain-marred New Zealand tour with the third and final one-day international on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The hosts are leading the series 1-0 as they clinched a seven-wicket victory in the opening ODI in Auckland. Notably, the second match ended with no result due to rain with Shikhar Dhawan and his side now looking for a series-leveling victory in the decider.

The semi-finalists of the recently-concluded T20 World Cup, India, and New Zealand have played out a frustrating T20 and ODI series so far. The opening T20I got abandoned without a toss while the third game also got interrupted and ended up with a tie (DL method). Though Hardik Pandya-led Indian side managed to seal the T20 series 1-0 courtesy of their win by 65 runs in the second encounter.

To make matters worse, the rain threat looms large even in the Christchurch game as another stop-start clash is expected to close out this short-rain-affected Indian tour to New Zealand. With 13 wins on the bounce on home soil in the format, the BlackCaps will look to continue their domination and end the series on a high by making it 2-0 in a shortened-game scenario.

Meanwhile, here are some of the important stats and numbers ahead of the 3rd ODI between New Zealand and India:

Head-to-Head: New Zealand and India have met in 112 ODIs so far with the Kiwis sealing victories on 50 occasions and India on 55. One game ended in a tie while six matches had no result. In New Zealand, both have clashed in 44 encounters with the hosts winning 26 times and the Men in Blue 14. The tied match took place in New Zealand in 2014 with three games ending in no result.

2 – Tim Southee (202) needs two scalps to surpass Chris Harris (203) and become the third-highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in ODIs.

35 – Rishabh Pant (3965) needs 35 runs to complete 4000 runs in international cricket.

6 – Devon Conway (44) requires six fours to reach 50 fours in ODIs.

1 – Tom Latham (49) is one big hit away from completing 50 maximums in ODIs.

5 – Suryakumar Yadav (74) needs five sixes to surpass Rohit Sharma (78 in 2019) and become the batter with the most maximums in international cricket in a calendar year.

3 – Tim Southee (97) is three scalps away from reaching 100 ODI wickets at home.

9 – Tom Latham (291) requires nine fours to reach 300 fours in the ODI format.
