Pakistan (PAK) and South Africa (SA) to clash in the 26th Match of the ongoing 2023 World Cup at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Friday, October 27 

Pakistan enter the contest against South Africa on the back of three consecutive losses. In their previous match against Afghanistan, Abdullah Shafique (58) and Babar Azam (74) helped Pakistan post a competitive total of 282/7 in 50 overs. However, their bowlers failed to step up, with Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali managing to pick up only one wicket each. Pakistan eventually lost the match by 8 wickets, leaving them fifth in the points table with a net run rate of -0.400. 

South Africa, on the other hand, come into the match with a morale-boosting 149-run win over Bangladesh. Batting first, they posted a mammoth total of 382/5 in 50 overs, thanks to centuries from Quinton de Kock (174) and Heinrich Klaasen (90). In response, their bowlers were clinical, with Gerald Coetzee picking up three wickets and Marco Jansen, Lizaad Williams, and Kagiso Rabada taking two wickets each. South Africa won the match convincingly and are now second in the points table with a net run rate of 2.370
