Last placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will return to their home ground at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for Match 30 of IPL 2024 to host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who are currently placed in the fifth spot.

RCB have so far won only one of their six matches and are promptly down and out at the last position on the points table. Currently, SRH have won three of their five matches, the same amount as two other teams - Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, but reeling in the fifth spot owing to their NRR being lower than both CSK and LSG.

In their last IPL 2024 game, RCB recovered in the last five overs to post 196 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MI chased that down with 27 balls to spare, raising very grave concerns about RCB's bowling. SRH's bowling form hasn't been very hot either, after huffing and puffing to 182, and having Punjab Kings on the mat for most of their bowling, conceded 75 runs off the last five overs and won by just 2 runs. Against RCB, they might not get away with it.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report

The indication seems to be that the par score at this stadium is just 185 rather than the expected 200-210 this season. While it will still be very batting-friendly, totals past 200 would definitely be rare considering none have been seen yet this season. Expect a run-fest in the upcoming fixture, however, it may not be another 200+ total game.

RCB vs SRH Strategies and Match-ups

SRH boast of a very strong batting unit and on a traditionally batting-friendly surface at Bengaluru, the visitors might as well post the first 200+ total at Bengaluru this season if they bat first, a total that is seemingly out of reach for the misfiring RCB. The home side might actually have a chance of putting up a big total while batting first, especially with their horribly out-of-form bowling. The important matchups for this clash are- Pat Cummins versus Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar versus Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj versus Travis Head and Mayank Dagar versus Heinrich Klassen, respectively.

Mohammed Siraj vs Heinrich Klaasen

Pacer Mohammed Siraj has bowled 14 balls to Klaasen and dismissed him once. But Klaasen has scored 28 runs with a strike rate of 200 in this duration and so the threat that Klaasen poses still exists.

X-Factors for RCB vs SRH

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

After generating a lot of deserved hype and being heavily in demand, Will Jacks finally got a chance to play against Mumbai Indians. Jacks has been in form especially in T20s since last year and he possesses the ability to cover up for RCB's misfiring bowling and maybe even take care of the void left by Glenn Maxwell.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

It is very hard to look past SRH's highest run-getter Heinrich Klaasen as the x-factor in this contest. He scored a century the last time these two teams met albeit in vain. His good form coupled with the batting-friendly pitch means that he will be able to make it a very difficult day for RCB's bowlers.
