Sunrisers Hyderabad had a forgettable IPL last year as they finished eighth in the points table with eight losses and six wins in 14 games. The addition of Harry Brook gives them the strong balance in the batting department this year while Aiden Markram, after tasting success with Sunrisers Eastern Cape Town in the SA20 league, will be leading SRH in 2023. However, Markram will miss the upcoming game due to national commitments, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the team in his absence.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, enjoyed the last IPL season as they finished the tournament as runners-up. Jos Buttler had the best of seasons as he won the Orange Cap after scoring 863 runs in 17 matches, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal won the Purple Cap after scalping 27 wickets in 17 matches. The Sanju Samson-led RR would look to continue the winning-run this season. They have added West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder in their squad to strenghten both departments.
