The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around an absolutely enthralling third Ashes Test match between England and Australia at Headingley. Ben Stokes batted at an absolute God mode to win the match for England literally from nowhere as Australia bottled several chances to win the game in pressure situations. In the end fittingly, the hosts won the match to keep the Ashes alive by levelling the series.
All the current and former cricketers were thrilled to see the action and lauded both the teams for putting up a brilliant display of cricket. Many praised Stokes for his efforts as well and even congratulated Australia for retaining the Ashes. However, the most important point was that the two teams have managed to treat the spectators with some superb cricket and keep the Test format alive.
Meanwhile, India’s Badminton star P V Sindhu won the Gold Medal and became the first Indian to win the World Badminton Championship ever. Suresh Raina and other Indian cricketers congratulated her for the stunning achievement as she beat Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara by 21-7 and 21-7 in the straight sets
