The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. On August 6, Tuesday, Sushma Swaraj, the former Indian foreign affairs minister, breathed her last at the age of 67. She passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The entire nation was in shock following the incident and wishes poured in for the enigmatic figure. The likes of Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal and Washington Sundar sent in their condolences. On Tuesday, India also won the three-match T20I series against the Windies 3-0.
After the triumph, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya congratulated the Men in Blue on the thunderous performances. Hardik was also happy for the fact that his beloved brother Krunal got the Player of the Series award. Rahul Chahar got his maiden international cap from Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, at the Providence Stadium in Guyana and he was on Cloud 9 after getting to don the national jersey. Chahar picked up Carlos Brathwaite’s wicket in the game. Aakash Chopra tried to analyse India’s show in the 20-overs format.
Thisara Perera posted a picture along with Dinesh Chandimal before their match against the Toronto Nationals in the Round two of the Global T20 Canada 2019. Eoin Morgan, the World Cup-winning England skipper, had fun with some kids at the Kennington Oval, the very venue where the Brits won the final, beating New Zealand.
Angelo Mathews sent in his wishes for Brendon McCullum, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after the ongoing GT20. Ian Bell wished Dale Steyn after the South African speedster announced his retirement from Test cricket. Mannoj Tiwary posted a video of his run-out from last year.
