The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The 2019 World Cup in England and Wales is currently underway. In the 39th match, Sri Lanka and the Windies locked horns at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. After losing the toss and being put in to field first, the Lankans put up a mammoth score of 338 on the board. Kusal Perera started the carnage, having scored 64 runs off 51 balls.
But it was Avishka Fernando, whose 103-ball 104 propelled Lanka’s score. His knock was laced with nine fours and a couple of sixes. After the masterclass, the likes of Mahela Jayawardena and RP Singh heaped praises on the right-hander. Russel Arnold was over the moon after getting to meet Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, also the wife of Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, in the Star Sports Tamil Studios.
The legendary Bishen Singh Bedi was deeply saddened by the display of cricket Windies put forth. Craig Ervine scored a ton against Ireland in the first ODI at Bready and his brother Sean was proud of him. Bangladesh stalwart Mushfiqur Rahim posted an adorable picture along with his son. He will need to shoulder responsibility in the Tigers’ upcoming match versus India on July 2 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Mohammed Shami picked up a five-wicket haul versus England and Sachin Tendulkar was a satisfied lot after his performance. The speedster currently is India’s leading wicket-taker in the World Cup with 13 wickets from three matches. Australian opener David Warner posted a picture of his newborn baby. Umar Akmal posted a video where he can be seen training hard in the gym.

India lost. The loss might affect Pakistan or Bangladesh but it’s likely to impact India more. It’s put India’s chances to finish at top under serious jeopardy. So…calm down you conspiracy theorists. There’s no smoke…because there’s no fire. Chill. #CWC19
