The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the ongoing fourth Test between India and England in Southampton at the Ageas Bowl. The fraternity also had their eyes on the ongoing Asian Games in Jakarta where India won the gold medal in Boxing and Bridge and take their gold tally to 15. The Hockey team also won the bronze medal by defeating Pakistan by 2-1. The Indian cricketers were delighted with the performance of the athletes and were busy congratulating them.

Meanwhile, the fourth Test between England and India has been tantalisingly poised thanks to yet another lower order resurgence from the hosts. Jos Buttler and Sam Curran batted extremely well to stretch England’s lead past 200 and kept his team ahead in the game with some masterful batting. Ravi Ashwin toiled hard on a turning wicket for 32 overs in the day but he couldn’t live up to the expectations as everyone felt that he will be key for the visitors on the fourth day.

Also, many questioned the tactics of Virat Kohli not taking the new ball when it was available. While Shane Warne felt that anything over 275 will be difficult for India to chase down in the fourth innings, Michael Vaughan was of the opinion that England had the advantage ever since they crossed the 200-run mark in the lead.
