The success of the two recent ICC tournaments namely the Champions Trophy and the Women’s World Cup has given the much-needed boost to ODI cricket. After the advent of T20 cricket, the 50-over format had started losing its sheen but in the past couple of months, the crowds have returned to the grounds and it’s again flourishing like it used to a decade ago.

It’s the perfect time for us to have a look best ODI XI of the current bunch of players. We at CricTracker have done our analysis of the best players in the world in the ODI format and come up with the combination that will make a formidable lineup on any playing surface around the globe.

Here’s CricTracker’s current best ODI XI:

#1 Rohit Sharma

The Indian opener may not have done justice to his Test career so far yet he is one of the best batsmen going around in the world in the second oldest format of the game. His record speaks for itself. Having played 180 ODIs so far, he has amassed 6594 runs at an average of 44.55. Rohit has scored 17 hundreds so far that include 3 double centuries, the only man to achieve that in the history of the game.

The right-hander once gets his eye in, is extremely difficult to dismiss. He makes batting look easy with his lazy elegance and when he gets going, there is absolutely no stopping him. Rohit’s incredible knock of 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens showed that he belongs to altogether a different league.
