CSA lists Marquee Protea Players in the new T20 Global Destination League

Cricket South Africa announced the list of Marquee players to feature in the new T20 Global Destination League which is scheduled to start towards the end of this year. Various South African players were allotted according to their home grounds or close association with the ground historically.
Here is the list of Marque Quota players:
Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir
The CEO of Cricket South Africa commented that the decision has been made in the view of allocating hometown heroes, so as to promote relatability with the fan-base.”The selection of our own South African marquee players has been very exciting, and it will be even more exciting when we engage fans to help us to allocate the “hometown hero” to each franchise team” said the South African Cricket lynchpin according to sayings by cricket.co.za.
South African T20 and Test captain Faf du Plessis seemed excited about the recent announcement. Du Plessis remarked that the tournament will boast some of the finest cricketers across the globe and will pose new challenges.
“It is a great feeling to be named amongst the eight marquee players. These are some of the best players in the world. Playing against them in the new #T20 Global Destination League will be a different challenge and one I look forward to. It will be fun and at the same time very competitive because we know each other so well. I am really looking forward to it.” said the right-hander currently representing the Rising Pune Supergiant.
One-day skipper AB de Villiers who is currently playing in the IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t shy away from expressing his ecstasy regarding the upcoming league. “I’m honored to be part of this list and cannot wait for the competition to get going. It’s amazing to think that the best in the world are going to be here on our shores. Looking at the international names, they are individuals that have changed the landscape of T20 cricket and I look forward to featuring in the league.” stated Mr. 360. The last date of bidder proposals for the process of acquiring team ownership is 28th April 2017.
