About 4-5 years ago, the India Sri Lanka fixture would have been regarded as an overdose by the fans of either team as they faced each other in 44 ODI matches in a span of 5 years between 2008 and 2012. However, their encounter in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will be the first meeting between the two in ODIs since 2014 in a 5-match ODI series which India won 5-0 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.

The Indian domination over the Lankans might continue with India’s strengthened batting and bowling line-ups who will be up against an inexperienced Sri Lankan batting and a mediocre bowling.
