David Warner made his 100th ODI game a memorable one by scoring his 14th century in this format during the 4th ODI game against India. The left-hander batsman struck a brilliant 124-run knock at one of his favourite venues, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore where he has scored a century and four fifties in nine Twenty20 innings. By the virtue of this century, Warner also brought an end to his run-scoring drought in this series with only 68 runs in the previous three ODIs.

This is also the maiden century in International cricket for David Warner in India as the Australian opener failed to get a triple figure score in his previous 23 innings. With this century, Warner also became the first ever Australian to score a century in his 100th ODI game. Only five players scored fifty in their 100th ODI for Australia with Geoff Marsh’s 81 being the previous highest individual score by an Australian in their 100th ODI game. The previous five include the current Australian skipper Steven Smith, who scored 59 in his 100th ODI which he played in the 2nd ODI of this series at Kolkata.

This century also makes Warner an addition to a rare list of seven players who scored a century in their 100th ODI game. He is now the 8th player to achieve the feat and is the first player to join this rate list after more than ten years. The last one to score a hundred in 100th ODI was Ramnaresh Sarwan way back in 2006 which he scored against India. Warner scored 124 runs in this innings before holing out at long-on. His innings of 124 is also the 3rd highest by any player in his 100th ODI behind Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 132 in 2004 and Mohammad Yousuf’s 129 in 2002.
