The Big Bash League has come down to the ultimate match of the tournament. After eight teams fiercely battled out to make it to the finals, it will be either of Adelaide Strikers or Hobart Hurricanes who will lift the coveted cup. The Adelaide Strikers finished up second on the points table after the league stage while the Hurricanes ended being fourth.

In the first semifinals, the Hurricanes took on Perth Scorchers. After putting the Hurricanes into bat first, the Scorchers were not as good as expected with the ball. Hurricanes put a massive 210 runs on the board. The Perth Scorchers succumbed to the semifinal pressure and fell short in the chase by 71 runs. They were the first team to enter into the finals of the tournament.

Adelaide Strikers get through to the finals after a nail-biting game

However, the second semifinal game ended being a nail-biting one. The Adelaide Strikers scored 178 runs in their quota of 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. The Strikers’ skipper, Travis Head who is back from the national duties played superbly well and top scored in the game with 85 of just 57 deliveries. The Melbourne Renegades got as close as they could but lost the game by just one run.

Rashid Khan is a part of the Adelaide Strikers and has been a significant performer for them. He picked up wickets at crucial times and played an important role in the Strikers road to the finals. He bowled really well in the semifinal game and was one of the most economical bowlers. In his 4 overs, he conceded only 28 runs and picked one wicket as well.

After the match, young Rashid shared a picture of him talking to the commentators. He thanked them all for their kind words on air. His IPL skipper, David Warner replied to this tweet. Warner congratulated him on a great tournament and said that Rashid brought some great joy to the BBL. He said his energy and skills were outstanding and wished him best for the finals.

Earlier, Rashid Khan was retained by his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 9 crores.
