When India and Pakistan play each other in the Middle East, how can D-Company be far away? If reports are anything to go by, gangsters close to global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim will attend the Asia Cup game on Wednesday. More than six intelligence agencies across the world decided to keep a close watch on Ibrahim and his associates in the run-up to the high-voltage clash.

Sources in the intelligence have informed that the global network of sleuths has got a key input about the India-Pakistan game. It has been learnt that two gangsters, both most wanted and close to Ibrahim and his D-Company, are likely to be present at the venue in Dubai. It has even been known that some of his kin from Mumbai and Karachi have already reached Dubai to witness the game.

Intelligence agencies of more than six nations keep watch on game

After receiving the input, intelligence agencies of more than six nations have zeroed in on the game in their lookout for the gangsters, a report in DNA said. The presence of Ibrahim and his associates at venues to see India-Pak games is not new. In the 1990s, he used to be seen attending games when the arch-rivals locked horns in Sharjah. It is also known that Ibrahim loves to bet on India-Pakistan games.

Sleuths from not only India but also the UK, US, Russia and China are keeping a close watch on the game after receiving the key input, the report added.

India and Pakistan are clubbed with qualifiers Hong Kong in Group A of the tournament. Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by 8 wickets in their opening game on September 16 but India were struggling to contain Anshuman Rath’s side in their game on Tuesday. Top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage and the top two from that stage will advance to the final to be played on September 28.

India have won Asia Cup the most number of times (six), followed by Sri Lanka (five) and Pakistan (twice).
